e-Waste Alternatives

 Don't Pay to Throw I.T. Away!

eWaste Alternatives (EWA for short) provides much more than electronics recycling.   It was designed to turn a growing environmental problem into an opportunity for everyone!

EWA is an 'Alternative' because it reuses as much material as possible before resorting to costly and destructive recycling.  Add this to our detailed documentation and efficient collection services and you'll understand why our clients are able to cut their recycling & materials management costs by more than 60 percent.

 eWaste Alternatives' List of Benefits:

  • Substantial recycling/handling cost savings because of REUSE;
  • 100% Asset accountability via free serialized item records provided electronically;
  • Our profit takes a back seat to environmental stewardship.  We only ship to licensed North American processors and have a 0% landfill policy;
  • EWA is currently Maine's only in-state operating and D.E.P. licensed electronics de-manufacturing and recycling facility;
  • Optional asset tag recording, data destruction and equipment declassification services;
  • EWAs processes were designed to create an optimal work environment for people with disabilities - right here in Maine;
  • Materials recovered for reuse directly benefit people within our community;
  • Onsite materials storage & logging system available for EWA client use that provides turn key D.E.P. compliance and security;
  • Substantial bragging rights for partnering in this very green and community oriented effort;
  • Free Annual "Green Report" which analyzes client materials' reuse rates as well as its value to the community.

Every business has surplus electronics and computers.  If your organization would like to save money and time while helping your community and the environment contact our office right away!

What "free" recycling usually leads to ...

Proper handling of surplus electronics always comes with a cost.  EWA offers you the rare opportunity to reduce and possibly eliminate your disposal costs through reuse.  There are other services out there that say they will take your ewaste for free, or even pay you for it - BEWARE!  These "Cash for Trash" schemes mean your gear will likely end up in a developing country and will contribute to the horrific human and environmental abuses that occur there every day. There are also substantial financial penalties for businesses who improperly dispose of ewaste.

Reuse is not a new idea - just uncommon because an investment of time and money is needed to recover and make these materials useable again. We will make the investment - will you provide the materials?
